Zerofootprint Foundation founder, Ron Dembo, and his partner Ilana Zylberman, celebrated their recent nuptials on the Ontario countryside with close family & friends. In lieu of gifts, they asked that attendees donate to the Buyungule Pygmy Tribe land purchase through the Zerofootprint Foundation.
They are extremely delighted to announce that with the generous and thoughtful donations of their guests, $10,000 was raised through the Foundation to successfully complete the land purchase in Congo. This is a marvelous achievement, and Ron & Ilana wish to extend their deepest gratitude and appreciation to those who donated.
The land purchase will be one of the first of its kind in the Eastern DRC for the Batwa community. This will allow permanent settlement for harvesting the land, promoting trade, and establishing education. These factors will greatly contribute to the cultural and economic stability of this small community and preservation of the Kahuzi-Beiga National Park.
The next major goal of the Foundation is to raise funds to build a local school once the land purchase is complete. We need your help to keep this momentum going! Please donate now to help us offer education to the children of this community. We have absolutely zero administrative costs, so 100% of every dollar you donate - whether its $5, $10, $25, or $500 - goes directly to the purchase of building supplies and labour.
