Our partners at Green Beat are wrapping up their visit to the DRC. Melanie and Xavier have been doing a great job helping the pygmy community learn about sustainable agriculture techniques.

These techniques address pest control and fertilizing the soil, naturally, without chemicals. The goal is to teach the pygmies the skills to be able to maintain the project over the long term.

Their first two tasks: teach the community how to build three different times of compost beds and plant seedling flats to protect the onion, corn, bean and potato seedlings while they grown big enough to be planted.
